Scholarships and Grants
The philosophy of the GBSSA is to encourage its members to improve themselves, their schools, their students, and their industry. To that end we have established programs to support our members' growth. If you have questions about any of the scholarships or grants, please contact us.
Eligibility
- Any staff person from a GBSSA member business school may apply.
- Applicant may not have received this scholarship during the current GBSSA membership year.
- Distribution of approved funding must occur within the current GBSSA membership year.
- Applicants who are not granted a scholarship request may re-apply with different funding requests within the current membership year.
- Members of the GBSSA Board of Directors are ineligible for this scholarship.
2019 Nominations are due by Monday, September 9 and decisions will be announced by Friday, September 13.
Funding CapacitiesThe GBSSA Board of Directors wants to stimulate collaborative projects amongst its membership. Therefore, a formal funding capacity will not be pre-set. However, the current financial status of the GBSSA will always be a consideration as application packages are reviewed. In addition, the GBSSA Board of Directors may choose not to fund any grant requests in a given membership year. |
NEW PROFESSIONAL CONFERENCE SCHOLARSHIPAwarded to a professional who has been in the graduate business student services field for less than 3 years. The scholarship covers the cost of registration at the GBSSA annual conference and up to $500 to cover lodging and transportation costs. |
INNOVATION AWARDAwarded to a business school who has created a new program or idea that revolutionizes what we do in our field. The business school who is awarded this honor will receive a waiver of the GBSSA membership fee for 3 years ($750 value). A letter from GBSSA will also be sent to the dean of the school. Open to current and potential new members of the Association. This will be awarded annually at the GBSSA conference. | iMPACT AWARDAwarded to a non-teaching staff member at a GBSSA member institution to recognize their contributions to the field, their institution and/or GBSSA. Recipient will receive a grant of up to $500 for a program at their institution and their registration fee will be waived at next year's GBSSA conference. If they do not use the grant in the current academic year, the institution will receive a waiver of their institutional membership the following academic year. The recipient's dean and supervisor will also receive a letter about the winner. This will be awarded annually at the GBSSA conference. |
